Which runway is an airport landing and departing on, right now, read from the motion of the aircraft themselves rather than from any schedule or broadcast. The estimate carries its own confidence, and goes dark when it cannot see.
MethodThe configuration is inferred live from public broadcast positions only. Arrival or departure comes from each aircraft's vertical trend, the flow direction from its runway-aligned track, and the physical runway from its lateral offset to each centerline. The operational rule of the field is held out as a label to score that last step, never used as an input. The depiction is normal segregated operations; single-runway, opposite-direction, and reduced-mode states are not drawn. Strip roles are provisional until confirmed against the controlling authority.
